Weekly News #110
A week and a half have passed, which means only one thing: firstly, it is time to sum up the results of the recent vote, and secondly, to talk about what has been done in this short period of time. As always, let's start with the first point.
So, the clear favorite in this vote was the item with the refactoring of the existing code. Other voting favorites are the plot, as well as the development of randomized NPCs. Naturally, we will work in a given vector for the development of the game, which, by the way, we are already doing. Well, now let's get down to what was done:
First, randomized NPCs. Here, oddly enough, this time it cost a small amount of work, however, in the near future we will add something global and what numerous people expected, probably. Firstly, we will increase the number of existing scenes with randomized male NPCs, secondly, we will do some work on the existing relationship system, and thirdly, we will add even more content related to this part of the game. However, at the moment, only a small part of the update planned for this has been made, which you will learn more about closer to April 15, when the next version of the weekly news will be released.
Secondly, the plot. Well, everything is quite simple here - new independent storylines have been added that better tell about the character and/or his motives. The events with Ayano Yoshida and Suzuki Matsui went into work. In the near future, some other characters will also go into work. Recent updates We are actively working on improving the existing storyline and, judging by the results of the voting, we will work so actively and in the near future on this part of the game. However, it is clear that at the moment this is not the largest part of the development for this update and even for this period of time.
Thirdly, bug fixing and refactoring. Already this is what we have focused on the most - many code points have been refactored, some errors that cause exceptions have been fixed, and much more has been done. The game has become much more stable when compared to builds of the game before. Well, now you can present a list of changes made in this short period of time:
New content:
- The hidden storyline with Ayano Yoshida has been updated: more different events have been added to it, and the existing ones have been slightly modified in general. In addition, some of the conditions for their loss have been revised.
- Added new mini-events related to the character Ayano Yoshida. They can fall out in absolutely any location with a small chance.
- A new storyline has been added regarding the character Suzuki Matsui. It can drop if your character has completed an existing storyline with it, and also if your character has sufficient skill in playing cards/physical attributes.
- Added new work events related to part-time work in the grocery store.
- Sleep now restores much more health to your character's limbs.
- Now the maximum weight indicator has a minimum possible value of 4 kilograms, which will save the game from errors in which the maximum possible weight could be below zero.
- A minor refactoring of the part-time job system in the grocery store was carried out: the formulas for calculating wages were slightly edited for the current game balance, some bugs and shortcomings associated with this game mechanic were fixed.
- A minor refactoring was carried out related to the randomized NPC generation system: now the RNPCs themselves are generated with a large number of interrelated factors that do not contradict each other.
- There has been a minor refactoring to the journalism club management/blackmail system that unlocks as you progress through the story. Now these systems have much fewer errors and problems.
- The system responsible for cooking was refactored. The code itself began to look a little better, some things were moved to separate functions, and cooking formulas were updated for the current conditions of the game economy, as well as for the game balance in general.
- New events have been added relating to life situations that complicate the game and the gameplay in general.
- New possible location interactions have been added to the Gym so that your character can now use the treadmill, increasing their stamina and agility with much greater efficiency.
- Added new in-game gameplay hints to the hint menu, which can be accessed using the in-game phone.
- Some unnecessary features that are no longer used in the game, as well as files have been removed.
- The album and photo feature is now only available on Windows devices.
- A new feature has been added to the font settings page - the ability to enable/disable Text-to-spech. It is only available on all devices except Android.
- The existing success formulas for interactions with randomized NPCs have been edited: some interactions have become easier to perform, while others have become a little more difficult.
- There was a minor refactoring regarding the sleep system: some incorrect calculations were changed and removed, the code itself became a little more understandable. In addition, new events and systems have also been added there, giving a little variety to the game and the gameplay in general.
- The system responsible for the distribution of randomized NPCs by location has been slightly refactored: now this system works much more stable and allows much less errors in the calculations.
- A minor refactoring of the in-game time calculation was carried out: more unnecessary lines of code were removed, something was edited in a more acceptable way. The game started to work a little more stable on older android devices, as well as some other weak devices.
Fixed bugs:
- Fixed a bug that caused persistent exceptions when playing cards on the player's computer.
- Fixed a bug due to which the incorrect price for treatment in the hospital location was indicated.
- Fixed a bug that could cause an exception when clicking on a randomized NPC and then opening the interaction menu with it.
- Fixed a bug due to which the quest to destroy the hooligans did not end when the leader of these same hooligans was defeated in a fight.
- Fixed a bug that caused damage from fights to show incorrect percentages in the player's diary.
- Fixed a bug due to which the percentage of debuffs could be incorrectly displayed in the diary of the main character.
- Fixed a bug due to which some of the new events related to part-time jobs in the grocery store did not drop at all.
- Fixed a bug due to which, when using the PC of the player in the English translation of the game, Russian words could sometimes come out.
- Fixed operability of some incorrectly working perks per level for your character.
- Fixed incorrect work of some storylines/lines with randomized NPCs. Now both the storyline with Yuki Oota and the storyline with hooligans in the academy work correctly. In addition, the existing formulas for event drops with randomized NPCs have been slightly corrected for the current standards of attributes / influence points and other factors.
- Fixed a bug that could cause an exception to be thrown due to some randomized NPC generation issues.
- Fixed a bug due to which some features of the appearance / details of randomized NPCs could be displayed incorrectly.
- Fixed a bug due to which some interface could be displayed incorrectly. - Fixed a bug related to some incorrect animations of the in-game interface.
- Fixed a bug that could cause some percentages in the journalism club management UI to be displayed as fractions instead of integers.
- Fixed a bug that could cause an exception to be thrown when generating a certain outfit/accessory set on a randomized NPC.
- Fixed bugs due to which in some places with story NPCs in the English translation of the game there could be text in Russian.
- Fixed bugs that could cause the game to crash in the middle of the game due to some errors in the game script timing.
- Fixed a flaw that could cause an exception when selecting some randomized NPC generation modes at the beginning of the game session.
- Fixed a bug that caused some miscalculations in accounting for the level of general vulgarity of the academy to be incorrect.
- Fixed a bug that could cause an exception to occur while editing randomized NPCs in the editor after the start of the game session.
- Fixed a flaw related to the fact that randomized NPCs could have incorrectly generated attributes for their character traits.
- Fixed a flaw due to which some body types on randomized male NPCs could be displayed incorrectly, without taking into account the necessary attributes/factors of influence.
So, that's where we end our weekly news. As you can see, not much has been done in terms of content, however, we have been focusing on the problematic moments of the game and improving its stability in general and in general. In the near future, of course, there will be even more content in it, but news about this will only be in 10 days, on April 15, so now all that remains is to wait. Thankfully, it's not that much time.
