Weekly News #142

So, another week and a half has passed since the release of the last weekly news. All this time we mainly spent on fixing bugs, improving the stability of the game and generally improving its technical part. However, even with this, we have something to show you and tell you about in this news. However, more on this a little later, but now we will summarize the voting results:

As you can see, I won the point with improving the game for the female gender. Next is the refinement of the randomized NPCs. We are starting to work on the first point now, and on the second we have worked quite well over these past week and a half. For the rest of the time until the release of a full update, we will be working on the game as a girl. You can learn about the results of this work when the full version 0.956 is released, and now... Read more about what has been done and what is already available right now.

First, randomized NPCs. What concerns this part is a huge innovation and reworking of all randomized male NPCs. In fact, their entire system, sprite initialization and many systems were redone and made from scratch. What did it give? Firstly, they now have 7 different positions that are displayed in events right now and change depending on their mood. A couple of them can be seen below:

Secondly, you can now customize your clothing more precisely. Choose tops and bottoms, create your own sets of clothes. More customization options are always good, right?

These new features are also available when you create your character, making them much more useful than you might initially think.

In addition, the systems for interacting with randomized NPCs have been improved in terms of system transparency. Firstly, by clicking on the button, you can now hide tooltips that tell you what this or that action does when you hover over it with your mouse/finger.

Secondly, when you click on the button next to it, you open a menu that tells in more detail about the applied buffs and debuffs. With this, you can better understand how to make something that will appeal to the specific RNPC your character is currently communicating with, and this is a very useful feature of the plan of transparency and understanding of the game's systems.

New tattoos. There are few of them and they are made mainly for fans of such content. In addition, they are only available for guys, but still a nice innovation.

Secondly, new systems... Labor Exchange. In it you can look for free energy work, earn extra money, get money from this type of side hustle, and also improve the “Hard Worker” experience. As the level increases, new types of jobs open up and earnings increase. In general, the system is quite large and not too overloaded for those who like to roleplay or for those who play on a difficult difficulty level. More options are always nice, right?

In addition to the labor exchange, a new tab has appeared on your character’s computer - business. With it, you can buy businesses for your character and make a profit from them. The system is not too loaded, it is made according to the prototype of the enterprises from Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, which will make it a good “extra income” on legal gaming grounds. All of these two new systems rely directly on luck, so this attribute also becomes more in demand than before.

Thirdly, we made a trailer for the game. Of course, this was done by hired workers, not our employees, so this is more of a nice addition and does not affect the speed of development of the game in any way.

Fourth, refactoring and bug fixes. Well, and frankly speaking, this is where the main work on the game took place. We fixed a huge number of bugs and refactored a large number of systems, which improved the stability of the game. You can find out about this below in the list of changes:

New content:

The system responsible for randomized men has been completely reworked and improved: they now have six different postures and hand positions, which greatly improves their "aliveness". In addition, each man has his own position, his own “habits” with hand control, and each man in the game safely changes them depending on his mood, event and many other gameplay factors. Especially for this, the system for assembling male sprites and many other systems indirectly responsible for this were completely redone.

A new button “labor exchange” has been added to the game, in the computer interface, which opens up a new full-fledged mechanics of part-time jobs, with the help of which your character will be able to spend his energy on money and experience of part-time jobs. Accordingly, the more experience you have in part-time jobs, the more possible tasks, as well as money for part-time jobs. All this is divided by hour, showing the level, experience and in general all the information with which you can choose something for your character.

A new tab with a system has been added to the player’s computer: purchasing businesses and real estate. With its help, after purchasing one, your character will be able to receive daily passive income into his bank account, depending on the business. In addition, he will also be able to promote this business and improve his “business empire” with the simplest manipulations in the interface if he has this very money.

A new appearance setting has been added for randomized male NPCs/your character: clothing fine-tuning. With its help, you can choose the bottom and top of clothes as soon as you wish, creating “your own” set of clothes that will be individual for you/RNPC. In addition, the same feature has been added to customizing your character when he is a girl, which will also create new appearance options that will be completely individual for you.

A new possible hint has been added to the randomized NPC interaction menu. It opens when you click on the button next to the name, and it itself shows how many and what the relationship modifier depends on for greater transparency of the system of interaction with them.

A button has been added to disable/enable tooltips inside the interface for interacting with randomized NPCs, which enables/disables a table when hovering over any interaction within this interface, which says that it will change after this very interaction.

The relationship modifier detection function has been improved to prevent the game from detecting huge four-digit ratios. A formula was made especially for it, which makes each new percentage less effective than the previous one, and the higher the value, the less efficiency this formula determines.

The system for determining the color of skin, clothing and many other systems and body parts of the RNPC has been improved: this system now works in a better and more enjoyable way than before, allowing you to create many more options without the system being "limited" at certain points where colors could reset/ not taken into account.

The translation of the game into English has been improved at some points in the gameplay: more correct words in the context have been changed and selected, and the quality of the translation itself has been improved.

The stability of the “Exactly change the set of clothes” setting in the RNPC editor has been improved, which is why the function itself has become more stable than before and began to work with fewer errors/exceptions and flaws.

A significant refactoring of the system that is responsible for the sleeves of randomized NPCs was carried out, due to which all the errors associated with this system were corrected: now the sleeves of the female RNPC are not superimposed on top of the suit itself, covering part of it, the layers themselves are rotated, which if necessary, change the priority of sprite construction. In addition, the system itself has become modular and more understandable for the average modder, making it easier to create modifications for the game.

More than half a dozen new tattoos have been added for randomized male NPCs, which are available for selection in the RNPC editor. This included adding a tattoo of the god “Barnibold” from the game and some quests.

The button construction system with which the player entered the interaction menu with a randomized NPC was completely changed: now there are much fewer “repetitions” of the code, the code inside this button itself has been updated and improved for the current game systems, and it has also become much smaller “ buggy” and began to take into account many more factors in adjusting the font and its size.

A significant refactoring of the systems that are responsible for initializing the appearance of the sprite of female randomized NPCs in the game session was carried out, which is why most of the bugs and shortcomings were removed from it: including the non-display of freckles on the chest of the RNPC, the disappearance of some tattoos when creating a game session , incorrect scar detectors and many, many other systems that are responsible for small and minute details.

A significant refactoring of the code that is responsible for navigating through locations was carried out. Huge rudimentary pieces have been removed, the code has been generally updated according to the relevant standards of the game now. In addition, accuracy has been significantly improved and the system has been made much simpler, allowing you to create locations in the game with much less interaction with the game code.

There has been a significant refactoring of the system that is responsible for initializing the clothing of randomized male NPCs, making it more stable and more modular, making it much easier to upgrade than before.

New decorative elements have been added to some overly empty interfaces to make them less empty and more full.

The system that forced randomized NPCs to sit in their apartment due to high levels of fear and injury on a permanent basis, no matter what, was removed from the game, making it no longer possible to roleplay as a bully.

Now randomized NPCs are generated without additional appearance setting "Hair Color Shade". It can still be selected in the appropriate editor and made any way.

A minor refactoring of the systems that are responsible for calculating energy/satiety and some other aspects of the gameplay was carried out.

A significant refactoring of the systems that are responsible for initializing clothing, underwear and many other aspects of the appearance of female RNPCs was carried out, which is why there are fewer errors associated with this, and the code itself has become better and clearer.

A significant refactoring of the system, which is responsible for removing/hiding any piece of clothing or underwear on a randomized NPC, was carried out, which is why the system itself became more stable and began to work better than before, producing fewer possible errors and exceptions.

The Light Mod has been returned to the game, which can now be enabled in the corresponding console of a Patreon subscriber after entering the Patreon code in the main menu of the game.

Now gifts from randomized NPCs bring and reduce less relationships in case of refusal or acceptance of this very gift. Now the event itself has much less impact on your relationships than before.

In some places in the game, the code responsible for the computer system in the game has been improved, which is why the system itself has become more stable and began to work much better than before.

The "Recipe Book" button in the cooking interface now has a much larger area than before, making this button work much better than before as well.

Now, if your character does not have a recipe book in his inventory, then the “Recipe Book” button in the cooking interface simply hides from there, and does not simply prevent you from clicking on it.

I've never been comfortable playing as a man in any game, nsfw or otherwise. Looking forward to the improvements in 0.956!

How do you get girls to not require a condom during sex?

(+4)(-5)

Ehh, To be honest: I do not get it why people wanna play as a female character. In my eyes it is a game about school, where you can rizz up girls as a dude who has to become better, faster, smarter, stronger as the time goes by.

Plus- the special girls should be changed also if the female character emerges at some point :/ ... But why is it so necessary to play as a Female.

I dunno... should developer create special MALE characters, too then?

But still: Bought the game, love the game. Really wanna see where it goes. Thanks, Kaito, for a fine game yet to be polished and etc. :)

Show post...

Women play the game too, I think.

(+1)

That sounds a bit sexist....a lot of females play games too, a lot of these games on itch are mainly male protags so im GLAD school games is doing female theres nth wrong with adding in more content for the females who play the game

(+5)

I wouldn't mind if you updated the game every 6 months or so instead of monthly updates. The current updates don't seem significantly different, and the game remains slow and poorly optimized, despite my fast PC being capable of handling these types of games well.
